As a department our services include:Providing information about the location of events taking place on campus.
Responding with emergency First Aid when required.
Responding to any unusual activity observed on campus.
Provide student Escorts for safety and medical purposes.
Provide vehicle jumpstarts and unlocking of vehicle door.
Responsible for Parking Regulations.
Issuing campus handicap parking permits.
Assist with Fire Drills.
Provide Safety meetings upon request.
Provide medical assistance when trained personnel are on duty.
Links to external emergency services (Police, Fire, Ambulance).
Operating the College lost and found Department.
Issuing keys to authorized persons.
Storing and issuing equipment for after-hour classes and seminars.
The role of our security officers is an important one. Our officers spend time patrolling the grounds – on foot, bike and vehicle patrols, and are responsible for responding to emergency calls and assisting the college community in whatever capacity is needed – be it helping someone find their way or helping someone to their vehicle.
We are also a strong supporter of the SAFEWALK program, providing an escort to walk you to any college destination – the parking lot, student residence or the bus stop. No matter when you need this service, we are here for you 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
We work towards developing relationships with all those who come to the College because together, we can all contribute to a safe campus.
